EDITOR’S NOTE: Iowa Racing News was given an older entry list. We have since obtained the most up-to-date list from X.CELERATED, promoters of the Karl Kustoms Bristol Dirt Nationals. The list below is accurate as of March 1, but does not guarantee all drivers will attend or pass inspection to compete.

BRISTOL, TN – We’re now just a matter of hours away from the first practice laps being put down ahead of the historic Karl Kustoms Bristol Dirt Nationals at the now-dirt-covered Bristol Motor Speedway.

Ahead of the races, the event’s competition director, Kelley Carlton, issued the following statement regarding technical specifications:

“I want to make one last plea about Bristol. Please take this seriously. It is NOT like anything we have raced on or you have raced on – even its asphalt configuration.

“All your safety equipment must be intact, in date, in good order and you MUST WEAR IT. There will be no warnings. No forgetting it at the trailer. You don’t have it, you will not race.

“Also, if your cage is the least bit questionable – stay home. I will not care how mad you get, how far you have traveled or how much you have spent. If your cage is not acceptable to me, you will not race.

“We still get questions to the email and Facebook page that scare me. People not reading the safety rules and understanding them. The questions that are asked lead me to believe that they have not read them period. Again, please KNOW that if your car is not right, you won’t be racing.

“Not trying to be that guy but this is a serious deal. If Bristol is a notch on your belt make sure you read and understand the rules. If you have a question, this is the last chance to ask via kelcarms@gmail.com. I will send you back to your trailer. And once that gate closes no one else is getting in. Take it seriously or stay home and watch.”

Additionally, Hoosier Racing Tire has issued a new tech bulletin regarding recommended tire pressures and dynamic camber for late models, modifieds, and stock cars racing at the Karl Kustoms Bristol Dirt Nationals. Click HERE to read the full bulletin.

Officials have also offered the following update regarding the pending weather situation in Bristol:

“The Karl Kustoms Bristol Dirt Nationals will do everything possible to run our scheduled event. The format allows us the flexibility to revise the race schedule as needed if inclement weather becomes an issue. Friday 3/19 and Saturday 3/20 events will be considered a complete event if half of the scheduled races are run. Sunday, March 21 is available to complete races if absolutely necessary.”

Iowans will be a major factor in nearly every class running during the event. The following is the most up-to-date entry list provided by event officials. According to this list, of the 1,355 entries across eight divisions, there are 179 Iowa racers entered, or 13.2 percent of the combined total field.
