KNOXVILLE (LODLMS) – Tonight, all attention in the Iowa Racing News coverage area turns to The Sprint Car Capital of the World – for Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series action.
The 17th Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals presented by BRANDT Professional Agriculture kicks off tonight at Knoxville Raceway after a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19.
Throught Saturday, the most elite dirt late model drivers from around the nation will come together on one of motorsport’s biggest stages. As one of the most prestigious events in our sport, there will be over $290,000 in purse money paid out over the course of the three-day, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event.
The activities tonight and Friday will feature complete programs of: Hot Laps, Allstar Performance Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 25-lap, $7,000-to-win main event. Racers will earn points in each of the two preliminary nights that will determine the line-ups for Saturday night’s finale.
Saturday night’s program will include Hot Laps, B-Mains, and the 100-lap, $50,000-to-win main event for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The Malvern Bank and Haulin’ with Hoker Trucking Super Late Models will serve as a support division on Saturday. Here are the details for tonight’s program:
